This too, we will survive...

As we awaken on this gloomy and critical, Monday, August 9, 2011, after the debt ceiling debacle, Euro crisis, inappropriate S. & P. action, stock market crisis, and tragic loss of 30 great and brave Americans in Afghanistan, we must remember that at low points in history, at the beginning of the Civil War, upon entry into World War II, and at the commencement ofthe civil rights campaign in the 60s, we, the American people, with nothing more than the constitutional right to select and remove leaders through the ballot, were able to motivate our timid government officials to take brave new stances which ultimately resulted in a greater and stronger America.

Today begins another great crisis, and after many years of watching the American people in such situations, I am sure that the great wisdom and strength of the American people will not only guide us to "get through this" but enable us to come out on the other side, as a better and stronger America.

Don't just watch, take steps to motivate your representatives in Washington to be strong and balance the budget through budget cuts tax reform, income tax reform and the imposition of tax increases upon the wealthy.

Since the Bush tax reductions, the middle class has shrunk, the wealthier have received a greater share of our governments and financial benefits, and despite the no new tax politicians, such job creation measures can be passed, as it is clear that if ALL of us share the burden. Clearly, the wealthy can absorb these taxes without changing their lifestyle. I believe that they are fully aware that the jobs created by this combination of actions including tax increases will revitalize the American economy and benefit all Americans, even the wealthy.

As our great 32nd President of the United States, Franklin Delano Roosevelt said at the commencement of this country's entry into World War,"Only Thing We Have to Fear Is Fear Itself".
